LEGAL / PRIVACY
Your privacy,
clearly.
Effective date: August 27, 2026
This policy explains how Sia Studios handles personal information in our websites, games, and apps. It is a general policy and may be supplemented by a product-specific notice where required.
Who we are
Sia Studios is a Canadian indie game and app development studio. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
What we collect
We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and support our products. Depending on the product and your choices, this may include:
- contact information you send to us, such as your email address and message;
- basic technical and diagnostic information needed to operate, prevent fraud, fix errors, or maintain security;
- game progress or settings stored on your device or, where a product provides it, in a service you choose to use; and
- advertising and consent information where a game includes ads or uses an advertising provider.
We do not knowingly collect information that is not needed for the disclosed product purpose. We do not sell personal information.
How we use information
We use information to provide and support our products, respond to messages and requests, maintain safety and reliability, comply with law, and—where enabled—serve and measure advertising in accordance with applicable consent choices and law.
Service providers and ads
Some products may use carefully selected providers, such as Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), to provide advertising, consent tools, crash diagnostics, hosting, or related services. Those providers may process information under their own privacy terms. Before release, each product’s Google Play Data safety declaration and in-app disclosures must accurately reflect the SDKs and data practices actually in that version.
Legal bases and consent
Where required, we obtain consent before collecting or using personal information, and provide prominent in-app disclosure and choice for sensitive data practices. We may also process information where necessary to provide a requested service, meet legal obligations, protect security, or pursue legitimate interests permitted by applicable law.
Retention and safeguards
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, unless a longer period is required by law. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Internet transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about personal information we hold about you. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, although this may affect product features. To make a request, use our Data & Account Requests page or email us. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Children
Our products are designed to be enjoyable for broad audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children except as permitted by applicable law and our product’s disclosed practices. Products directed to children will be assessed against applicable child-privacy and Google Play Families requirements before publication.
International processing
Information may be processed in Canada or in countries where our service providers operate. Those jurisdictions may have different privacy laws. We take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate to the transfer.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as products or laws change. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date. Contact us at [email protected] with questions or concerns.
